WHAT YOU’LL FIND HERE: Everything surf and skate
WHEN DID YOU START SKATEBOARDING? Rolling on one since 1985
BIGGEST CHALLENGE RUNNING A SKATE SHOP? Fickle kids
BEST SELLING HARDGOOD IN YOUR SHOP RIGHT NOW? Decks
BEST SELLING SOFTGOOD? Socks
YOUR THOUGHTS ON SKATEBOARDING TODAY? For me, personally, it hurts more but still reigns supreme! What sucks is big money and posers. What’s great is big money, kids ripping, old dudes getting props and (as always) jumping on cars.
BEST SELLING SKATE SHOE? DVS
MOST UNIQUE THING ABOUT YOUR SHOP? We are a surf shop with a skate team larger than our surf team and ironically, a bunch of people who work in skate shops buy their stuff from us.
MOST UNIQUE PRODUCT? We get a lot of goofy and limited edition stuff.
WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON IRIR AND WHAT IS DOES FOR SKATEBOARDING AND THE ENVIRONMENT? IRIR is about as legit as it gets! It’s a “no-brainer” to participate. Literally, if your shop isn’t down with this program then you don’t have a brain. It costs the shop NOTHING. There’s no competition or rivalry between shops because nothing is being sold (although a “friendly” shop vs. shop broken deck contest might be cool). At the end of the day I feel better about myself knowing that I’ve A. reduced landfill waste, B. aided in making cool, recycled skate products and C. stoked out some kid somewhere who’s getting his/her first (or better) skateboard! IRIR has already helped the shop with our 2 annual events AND every year we participate in the “broken decks for a complete” contest. Like I said, you guys are legit -or how bout this- “If it IS broken, don’t fix it… send it to IRIR!”
ANYTHING YOU’D LIKE TO PROMOTE? Our Annual Halloween Jam on Saturday, Oct. 25!
